Decanter - 95 p - "An intriguing complexity of baked red fruit and pastry with traces of ginger and cumin spice and a lengthy tangerine acidity. Very unique, a wonderful food companion."

2019

Wine Spectator - 93 p - "Not a poolside sipper, but rather a big-boned, seriously structured rosé that broods with smoky, savory, flinty power. Fruit isn't the point of this offering, which boasts incense, bergamot root, tobacco and spiced orange peel pulled together by grippy tannins and a saline coating. Graced by salted brioche, the finish goes on and on. Best from 2025 through 2035."

Decanter - 92 p - "The latest cuvée from Clos Cibonne, the only Provence estate allowed to make almost 100% Tibouren thanks to historical precedence. History inspired this wine, harking back to the time before the wine was bottled and was syphoned off from the barrel on demand. Unsurprisingly there are plenty of oak aromatics on the nose, palate and structure here, with notes of vanilla, dried apricots, jasmine tea, sour orange, opulent ripe fruit and saline mineral tension with notes of black tea. Despite age, this still has lots of youthful energy. Drink 2023-2035."

In Vino - "Vackert laxfärgad.

Decanter - 98 p - "This 15ha property overlooking Toulon harbour has been part of the Roux family’s ancestry for almost 230 years. It wasn’t until 1930 that André Roux decided to dedicate the land exclusively to vines, especially the ancient variety Tibouren – not widely planted outside Provence, this is an intensely aromatic black grape with a thin skin, which is notoriously difficult to grow. The family still champions Tibouren, which makes up 90% of its vineyards, and some plots are more than 50 years old. Elizabeth Gabay MW: Orange. Lots of new oak on the nose. New oak on the palate gives richness and oomph. Oranges, dried apricots, long saline mineral acidity balancing new oak. Joanna Simon: Orangey. Deep and complex nose of spice, dried peach and oak. Concentrated, complex, richly textured palate with spicy, dried-flower notes and baking bread; breadth, length and graceful mineral-fresh notes. Rod Smith MW: Oaky and slightly spicy aromas: plenty of honeyed, rich straw, baked fruit underneath. Complex, delicious and deeply flavoured with baked citrus, honey and apricot. Good balance and lovely phenolic grip on the finish. Certainly approachable now, but no hurry to drink."
